The Faces of School Reform | The Indypendent

I particularly love this comment:

48% of U.S. teachers hold an advanced degree.
The percentage is 78% in NY, 43% in CA , and 51% in DC.
Almost half of the U.S. teaching force which works in schools today is more educated than Mr. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.

The Faces of School Reform | The Indypendent: "Led by a band of billionaires, the school-reform movement has gained increasing momentum during the past decade, spreading its reach into urban communities across the country. But instead of truly transforming public schools, private funders want to restructure them. They insist running schools like a business is the solution. At stake is not only control over hundreds of billions of dollars in local, state and federal funding, but also the future of the next generation of schoolchildren."
