Oh CABE: What Happened to You? - Wait, What?: "Rather than bringing people together, the charter school and business led Coalition for “education reform” has sought to divide and polarize the broad range of Connecticut citizens dedicated to developing a high quality and universally accessible system education. The organization’s anti-teacher, anti-teacher union and anti-teacher tenure rhetoric is undermining Connecticut’s historic commitment to working together for the common good.
Of equal concern is that this other group’s agenda is diametrically opposed to what CABE’s membership needs and wants.
The Connecticut Council for Education Reform is the primary supporter for increasing state support for charter school students by $2,600 a year while, at the same time, providing a paltry $150 a year per student for the 30 poorest communities and nothing or almost nothing for the rest of Connecticut’s school systems."
