Still Separate, Still Unequal

This is an hour long, but I really recommend it.  This video begins to explain why wealthy white men suddenly wish to close the achievement gap--calling it the "civil rights issue of our time" (I've heard that many times so far).  Yet they do not wish to talk about the funding inequalities in the system--let alone the real inequalities in our society.

One quote explains it all: Rupert Murdoch said that education represents a $50 BILLION industry waiting to be transformed.

We know that this bill represents the attempt to privatize education, this video adds to your background knowledge.

A final word from the video: Martin Luther King Jr. said that the enemies of African-Americans are the enemies of labor.  The people behind the bill claim to be the friend of the downtrodden... that cannot be true if they are trying to destroy the public education system and the union which makes up the backbone of that system.
