Another “Education Reform” Group Violates Connecticut’s Ethics Laws? - Wait, What?

Another “Education Reform” Group Violates Connecticut’s Ethics Laws? - Wait, What?: "And it’s not like Teach for America’s state chapters don’t engage in lobbying.  In Rhode Island, which is also witnessing an “education reform” effort, Teach for America – Rhode Island has registered to lobby and has already spent $25,000 this year pushing their education reform proposals.

But here in Connecticut they are apparently claiming that their interaction with state government and state officials is so limited that they don’t even have to register with the Office of State Ethics despite their extensive efforts to change public policy.

But despite their failure to register, another set of emails that have surfaced reveals that Nate Snow, Teach for America’s Connecticut Director, has engaged in a number of conversations (both in person and via email) with state officials about Governor Malloy’s “Education Reform” proposal."
