'Dismayed, appalled' at governor's take on school reform - Connecticut Post

'Dismayed, appalled' at governor's take on school reform - Connecticut Post: "As I read the statistics released by the state regarding the dismissal of tenured teachers, I noted the incomplete nature of the data. It should include the high number of new hires who, after careful review and assessment, are not invited back for a second, third or fourth year. In essence, a small percentage of new hires are being recommended for tenure in the first place.

Also, Governor Malloy, those who gather data on your behalf have either not asked the right questions or hand-selected the information to prove a predetermined notion. For instance, many teachers are "counseled" to resign long before formal action to terminate. You have to carefully analyze the data, ask your own questions and remember the old adage : figures don't lie but liars often figure."
