MATTHEW P. VALENTI: Bullying unacceptable in state government- The Register Citizen: "Governor Dannel Malloy wants his original SB 24 bill so badly, that he has taken to threatening and bullying the lawmakers in this state if he doesn’t get what he wants. I don’t know what else to call it given the above definition. He has stated that if he does not get his way, he will veto anything else regarding education that legislators pass, and as punishment, withhold tens of millions of dollars of Education Cost Sharing to the towns that educate the very children he claims he so desperately wants to help. The towns are already making changes to their budgets to prepare for a worse case scenario.
Why the unrelenting passion of our egotistical state leader? MONEY! There are millions to be made by private business if the governor’s original bill passes. Why do you think that there are so many advertisements by “Achievement First” and “Students First”? It’s because they stand to make a monetary killing. The original bill is totally flawed and defective because the people who crafted it at the top were thinking about money, not kids."
