Business and “Education Reform” Groups Denounce Democratic efforts to fix Malloy’s “Reform” bill

- Wait, What?: "The Executive Director of the Connecticut Association of Schools, Karissa Niehoff, complained about the legislative decision to require that teachers and their unions participate in developing and implementing the plans to turn-around failing schools.  The notion that teachers would collectively play a role in putting a school back on track seemed like an anathema to the press conference participants.   Neihoff explained that when unions are involved, “you’ve really lost the emphasis on the evidence [of low performance] itself.”

Wait, I’m sorry.  Can you explain that one again?

And the representative of the Boards of Education used her time to denounce how binding arbitration is used to resolve contract disputes overlooking the fact that Connecticut’s binding arbitration was developed and passed by a Republican controlled State House and Senate."
