“’Poverty Is Not To Blame’ for the Differences in Educational Outcomes” (really?) - Wait, What?

“’Poverty Is Not To Blame’ for the Differences in Educational Outcomes” (really?) - Wait, What?: "Whether one compares the statewide data, the results from wealthier towns or the information from poorer towns, the basic pattern is the same.  Poorer students end up with lower standardized test scores than students who are not poor – even if they live in the same town.

It’s hard to imagine that these corporate leaders are so ignorant that they don’t understand the single most significant challenge facing education outcomes throughout the United States.

But, of course, it is even more disturbing to think that they know the truth and authorized their staff to put out a statement that is so totally wrong and misleading – all in an effort to convince legislators and the public to support reforms that will have no impact on the educational outcomes of poor students in Connecticut."
