Just a reminder that Malloy isn't sitting back and waiting to see what happens. He's still working hard for his ConnCAN bill.
Malloy to mayors: Back education reform - Connecticut Post: ""I think there's an appreciation amongst these folks that we have work to do in the remaining weeks of the legislative session," Malloy said. "We're in the process where we need to make substantial headway if we are to have a meaningful education reform package that I can support. We're talking with everyone and we'll continue that process through May 9, which I hope will lead to legislation that we can support."
He said that while there have been no formal discussions on the education bill since the March 26 committee vote, informal and staff-level discussions have continued.
Malloy said he understands the pressing budget needs of local leaders throughout the state as they prepare their budgets. "They shouldn't be depending on this money," he said. "I think this money is very much in the lurch until we have an educational bill that we can agree on. I anticipate a bill I can support.""
