Stinker Inside Malloy Ed Reform Bill Going Nowhere | Rick Green: "Tucked inside Gov. Dannel Malloy’s massive education reform package is one putrid piece of legislation. Justifiably trashed by the unions, teachers and blogger Jonathan Pelto, the item would award former Hartford Superintendent of Schools Steven Adamowski a pension for his service here. Adamowski — widely praised for his five years in Hartford and who now oversees school reform in Windham — currently doesn’t qualify for a pension because he never passed state certification when he returned to Connecticut to take the Hartford job.
I’m told by numerous sources close to the private negotiations now taking place at the capitol involving the education reform bill that there is no chance the Adamowski pension deal will see the light of day when the education committee begins discussing the legislation early next week.
Not surprisingly, when I called around, nobody seemed to know who put the provision in the Malloy bill."
